Re: Thinking R92
I traded for the Rossi R 92 45 colt/454 casull, and so far all I have fired from it have been 45 colt. Both my reloads, and factory loads. Both have worked just fine, The one I have is the 20 inch barrel, stainless, and I changed out the plastic magazine follower, for a steel one from Steves Gunz. ...

Thinking R92
The Winchester 1892 is my all time favorite carbine, even though I sold mine last century. Naturally every time the R92 454 comes up my acquisitive gene fires up and I start browsing again . . . . 45_R92 454.jpg . My daughter has the older 45 Colt version and I know exactly how it handles. So, let's...

Long ago I had that Keith bullet loaded in a 4" Smith 357, and had a couple of them glance over a deer scull before I realized I was too close. Too close? Can you elaborate? I never knew the actual range to a deer, I knew about where the pistol naturally shot to, distance and elevation-wise. B...

By the way, those fall-front knee breeches came to me used, and I wouldn't have chosen pink, although it was not only correct for the period but considered downright high class. The other bullet that I load is the Hornady .454 diameter swaged 255 gr Cowboy bullet. It doesn’t look like much but I can push it with 8 gr of Unique (certainly not a weak cowboy action load) and it shoots cleanly and accurately in sixguns and leverguns. That's about as good a load as it gets for ...

Grade 8s only achieve their strength rating when torqued to a specific value, however they are more brittle than grade 5s and tend to break where movement is allowed. that's true, but it is true of all threaded fasteners, all of which can be broken if the threads get stripped or over-stretched in a...
