Re: Rim fire fun

That sounds like a great time. we had a game at a berm north of Camelback Mountain, which was wild desert 60 years ago. we collected lucky lager cans which had a big red X that made for perfect targets. boring the X at 100 yards with a nylon 66... also shot those cans in Black Canyon in the vicinity...

I hunted with 44 mag as primary for many years. You are correct about the 1:38 twist rate. You could rebarrel a marlin with a 1:20 barrel. I shoot BTB 405g hardcast out of a Redhawk with outstanding accuracy and penetration at 950fps. I have not found a lever gun yet that can shoot that round. It go...

You might have over-analyzed it a bit.

It's a binary thing, sheep or goats, and the eventual outcome is not in doubt. In the meanwhile we can ignore or enjoy the meantime. Eh?

I recall that back a while during the heady days of the H&R barrel switching program, it seemed common that folks were using and passing around chamber reamers for the exact purpose of easing the saami spec chambers with a leade. anyone recall this? So, any thoughts on a die grinder as a rotary tool? the corded have much more powerful motors and with 1/8" sleeves will drive dremel size bits as well as standard die grind bits. I don't have enough air to run a die grinder yet, am only interested in 110v. I have a harbor freight rotary which hasn'...
