Re: Lever gun from Nepal
It shoots a .577/.450 round. Below is a pic I lifted off the net... http://auction-e.com/image/19/989/9740.jpg It is a 32 inch barrel and 50 inch overall length. There are a bunch of folks that do shoot them and I have no doubt this guy would do a good job. I could find a few rounds I would put a fe...

Lever gun from Nepal
A couple of months ago I picked up an untouched Martini-Henry Gahandra rifle. I finally got around to cleaning her up... Not to shabby! http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e72/jfg_4/misc/black%20powder/gunx/IMAG0081.jpg http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e72/jfg_4/misc/black%20powder/gunx/IMAG0082.jpg ...

Re: Picked up a Rossi Model 65 SRC
Congats!! Nice lookin Rossi. I really like my 44 Mag Rossi. I did a quick search on Gunbroker - here's a neat Uberti 44-40 that would make a good companion to that rifle: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=234749549 http://pics.gunbroker.com/GB/234749000/234749549/pix511106359.jpg ...

Re: Picked up a Rossi Model 65 SRC
Nice looking gun. If you're so inclined, that wood might finish up really well, too. Kinematics Research (Able Ammo?) is (or maybe was) an ammunition manufacturing company in Tennessee, I think. I beleive that their plant was either destroyed or heavily damaged in an explosion last winter. :? Are y...

Re: way OT - Panama hat
Don't sell the short on durability. A well made panama is fairly rugged. I have beat the heck out of mine. Roll em up, shove em in a suit case, head to the islands and bring it out and party!

Re: Picked up a Rossi Model 65 SRC
Not bad, I like the looks of it. I've never heard of Kinematics Research ammo. Where is it made, by who if it says and what brass did they use? Just curious. Joe I hadn't heard of the either. The guy that traded in the gun provided the ammo also. It WAS made in Tennesse but looks like the factory w...

Picked up a Rossi Model 65 SRC
Picked up a Rossi today... Essentially their take on a 92. Chambered in 44-40. It is a used one I found locally along with some ammo. It is an earlier model so there is no thumb safety!
Now I need to get a wheel gun to go with it!

Outstanding story on the pistol! Thanks.
I think I am going to be on the lookout for a 44-40 pistol/rifle.

OT: Lone Ranger Pistol Question - Caliber
I have been debating my next purchase of a lever gun. I have been thinking of a .45lc or 32-20. That led me to think about wheel guns as well. Then I had a thought... What caliber did the Lone Ranger tote? I am pretty sure it was a .45lc but I am not 100%. been a longtime since I have seen Clayton M...

Re: New to me lever gun - Ruger 96 .44
.44 Mag = 4 rounds in the magazine; someone advertised 9-round ones on the internet that I think were composite tops with Desert Eagle magazine bodies in them, but I've never actually seen them. The .17 HMR and .22 WMR both hold 9 rounds, with a 20 or 25 round extended aftermarket one available. Th...

New to me lever gun - Ruger 96 .44
Just picked up a Ruger 96.
Kind of a variation on the first rifle I ever shot (a Ruger .44 Carbine).
Enjoy!

Re: Newbie to the forum
Well, if you're desparate for at least a temporary solution, or want something you could perhaps use as a template to make one yourself (the coolest kind), I don't know whether it would do for a Winnie 94, but... ...THIS is the one I think I had to use as a temporary measure for getting a petite, r...

Re: Do You Remember Your First Pocket Knife?
I think my first knife was my official Cub Scout knife. I got that back in late 70's. I ran across it about 10 years ago... unfortunatly I think I put it some place safe... no telling where that is!!!!

Welcome to the forum. That's strange that almost everything else is there for the Bicentennial, but the buttplate. What happened? I have no idea. The gun shop had it on consignment from a widow. Everything else was there. There were also a couple of indentations in the Styrofoam that would have bee...
