Re: What do you guys know about Rem 760 mags?

I have a 760 from 53 in 30-06 and the magazine has several differences than the 742 magazine.

Both sides are smooth and the rear is straight across from the where the rim of the cartridge is compared to the 742.

I don't have a camera so I can't post a picture.

The way the Glock and all of the other striker fired pistols are designed it shouldn't have discharged without the trigger being pulled. The strikers is only half cocked prior to puling the trigger. There is a striker/firing pin block in the slide that is depressed when you pull the trigger. This pr...

In my experience the accidental discharge comes from having to pull the trigger to remove the slide and not checking the chamber first. Re: New pump/slide rifle in .458 Win Mag

I made the mistake of resting the recoil pad against my thigh and shooting a 510 grain, ouch. My biggest problem was I couldn't find a front sight blade that was regulated for the 300 grain Hornady bullets. I ended up putting a scope on it but it was too heavy to carry deer hunting.

Re: New pump/slide rifle in .458 Win Mag

35 years ago I had Ruger #1 in .458 and the recoil was pretty bad when you fired 500 grain bullets through it. I usually fired 300 grains and it was much more pleasant to shoot.
You might not feel the recoil if you being attacked by a water buffalo but it would be hard to pump fast.
