Doc AJ brought up the interesting point that in the 2020 election, approximately 14 million more votes were counted than in previous recent elections and the 2024 election. Wonder where those came from....hmmm.

I remember in one of Hickok 45's videos he was showing that with his Marlin Cowboy Limited 1894 in .44 mag his bullets were keyholing at just 25 yards. He increased his cast buillet diameter by .002" and his bullets shot straight thereafter. It might be wise to slug your barrel.

I have 3 .41 mags in Smiths and 2 in Rugers but that Bisley looks very attractive. If I see one I'll probably take it home. It's a great caliber. I have a midsize Bisley flat top Ruger in .44 special and I think a .41 mag in that gun would be perfect.

I wanted to see what all the fuss was about with Glocks years ago so I bought a 9mm, then I bought a couple more plus a Glock .40 S&W and a couple of S&W 9mms. I probably have 1500 loaded rounds of 9mm but I don't shoot 'em. Revolvers are so much more fun.

Due to the excellent penetrating qualities of the .45 Colt, Villa is said to have lined up 4 or 5 captives at a time and executed them with a single shot when ammunition was in short supply.

You said "finally". Does that mean you finally got a squirrel with your old gun or you finally got a new air rifle? I recall you were favorably impressed with the reviews of the Beeman R7. Pyramyd Air apparently has them and they imply they are still made in Germany. Might be worth another...

I have a 200 gr RCBS mold, 45-201 that I use pretty much exclusively in my 1911s. It has a very narrow shoulder that is seated so close to the case mouth that it doesn't interfere with feeding. 5.0 gr of Bullseye or 5.8 gr of 231 does it for me.

Still better than here in NM. After she was elected to office our far, far left idiot governor decreed that no gun transactions would take place on state property (the state fairgrounds) so the gun shows since then have been small and widespread. Not that they were very attractive even before that.

I doubt that either Prazak or Linebaugh concerned themselves with mathematical power but rather determined through experience that appropriately loaded .45 Colts had a distinct advantage in hunting big game.

I think Max Prazak would certainly argue that the .45 Colt loaded to its full potential is superior to the .44 mag as a hunting round. I'm sure John Linebaugh would have agreed.

We got a dusting last night too. It's just a few degrees below freezing so it'll be gone in an hour or two. Forecast cast calls for dry weather for the next week or so. I hope the wind stays down...it's been really windy the past few days.

I have a snowblower but I really don't need to use it very often, maybe half a dozen times per winter. It's a Craftmen with a 110V electric start which I think is an excellent feature. The biggest downside is that when the temperature is too warm and the snow is really wet, the chute gets plugged up...

That's pretty typical for New Mexico as well. Albuquerque is by far the largest city in the state and the relatively rare times it snows, people freak out, have no idea how to drive in it. Years ago I had a Ruger m77 Tropical Rifle in .458 that was magnaported. I only shoot cast bullets and was constantly cleaning lead off the front sight base. I finally gave up and sold the rifle.....I still regret selling it.

Scott, about 8 years ago I sent my 40 year old .45 Colt Blackhawk back to Ruger complaining of oversized chambers and throats. Amazingly, they replaced the cylinder and sent it back at N/C. Scott, my shooting partner keeps track of how many times his brass has been loaded. His Starline brass seems to last the longest, not surprisingly. Standard pressure loads in .45 Colt have lasted well over 30 reloadings. He does not anneal his brass and replaces it as soon as cracks are visible.

For every caliber that I don't load on my Dillons, I use an RCBS bench-mounted priming tool. I've had it for years and it works very well. I don't have that tool or several others (case trimmer, lubrisizer, etc.) mounted permanently, I clamp them to my bench when I need them.
