Bill, although I agree with you that Wayne is a scoundrel, I also have to think back that he very ably brought the NRA a long way while defending our freedoms during his time as executive VP.

Re: Thinking about a new press
Gunny, I had an RCBS Jr press I bought in the early 70s that I used for all metallic cartridge reloading until I bought a couple of Dillon 550 progressives 25+ years ago. I use the Dillons solely for straight-walled cartridges and did only bottle-necked rifle rounds on the RCBS, oh and .45-70s. I pr...

Re: Loading the Peacemaker, Colt’s Model P
Black River Smith, there are several powders that will substitute well for Bullseye. Accurate Arms #2, Red Dot, Power Pistol and TiteGroup ought to work just fine. Of those, TiteGroup is my favorite. It's a very versatile powder which works well through a broad range of pressure levels just like Uni...

That's really unfortunate. The bear has no fear of humans and it has already been tagged at least once for coming too close to people. This video could well put it on a death sentence list.

Re: Alliant ceases production of powders
Absolutely! I understand that the US has dug deep into our own stocks of military weaponry in order to supply especially Ukraine. We need to catch up again and that does not bode well for future availability of Alliant powders.

Re: Alliant ceases production of powders
I think the most significant reason for the shortage of Alliant powders is that they are based on nitrocellulose. Nitrocellulose is also the primary component of artillery shell propellants. The fact that the US has sent hundreds of thousands of tons of artillery shells to Ukraine over the last coup...

In the Absence of Alliant Powders
There are lots of powders that can be substituted with the suspension of Alliant powder availability. One of my favorite substitutes in .45 Colt with standard loads is TiteGroup. Using 250 gr machine cast bullets over 6.2 gr of TiteGroup results in 825 fps with standard deviations under 10 fps commo...

Around our community, people have thought it was cute to leave food out for the bears. That's pretty much a death sentence for the bears. Odd that John Taffin declares 44 Special alive and well and an article in the June 24 Handloader by another well known writer declares all 44 revolvers and calibers as dying. Turdyturdy, regarding the "dying" .44s, Venturino loves using provacative titles to his articles. Maybe he thinks ...
