Re: Opinions on current production .30-30 lever actions

Henry is shipping a new version of their steel 30-30 this month. It's 7 lbs and comes equipped WITH XS ghost ring sights (an $80-$100 value), for around $570 street price ($769 MSRP). Know someone that has one on order at that price. The new version also features a checkered stock and fore end. The...

All i can say is: I'll be there!!! I have one of the new Henry .30-30's with XS sights on order and i plan on doing a full report of it with pics to post on here and Marlinowners and would happily post it on your new site. I am thinking it will be a great deer gun and great compliment to my Marlin 3...

Re: Marlin SBL 45/70 in stock right now

I'd like one of these- but from what i have heard everyone that has bought a new marlin lately has had to send them back and sometimes they still aren't very good the second time around.

I am spending my money on the new Henry .30-30 this year. Hopefully Marlin's quality will return soon :(

Re: Which 30-06 For Hunting?

I really like my lightweight, pistol grip, .30-06 blr. It doesn't feel as good as my marlin 336 but you get used to it- it does have a long length of pull but the action is very fast. I have had cause to empty my BLR on a deer at last light several times and never have any trouble- I don't like to l...

I have one of the single trigger SxS 12 ga's with 28 inch barrels. It's been a good gun so far for about 10 years now. not a huge amount of rounds through it though. I use it as my corner closet, quick response varmit gun. It's taken care of alot of skunks, woodchucks, and rabbits. I have had two &q...

I like my 30.06 just fine!!! With 2.5x Leupold. Shoots very nice little clusters just leaning my elbows on the local shooting bench. Started using Hornady SST 150gr loads this year and am very happy with the performance and accuracy. Shoots tighter groups than my ruger m77 30-06 with a 6x. I find th...

Brought the BLR out of vacation this year.

Got this nice minnesota 200lb.+ 9-pointer with my .30-06 lightning BLR. Shot my first 9 deer with it with the open sights, brought it back into action this year with a 2.5x leupold on top. I don't know the answer to this but mine in 30-30 catches the federal flat points on the top edge of the chamber whether levering slow or fast. However the winchester and remington round noses as well as the leverevolution bullets feed nice and smooth with no issues- so that is what i use.
