Re: Big bore sixgun back in the corral
When I thought about getting into Silhouette shooting, I wanted a 10-½" Blackhawk in 45 Colt... or, preferably a Seville, or a Virginian Dragoon. Never have found one at my price point. Probably, because I'm cheap! And less likely as the years go by... Interest has waned somewhat also. Getting ...

I've never owned a .22 levergun... tho' have always wanted a 9422, I owned a Ruger Single Six Convertible for a while, but ended up trading it for a Marlin 336 in .30-30. I had the chance to replace that Single Six with a Colt Peacekeeper, but opted for another Winchester 94 in .30-30.

I adjust the alignment pins until I can't feel any play whatsoever between the block halves. I've had several moulds that all that was wrong was they needed some slight adjustment to the pins. I had a one that was made misaligned that I sent to Erik Ohlen and had him recut the alignment pin holes. ...

When I decided I wanted a dedicated off-duty firearm, I considered a Detonics, the only sub-sized 1911 I knew of at the time (1977), I finally decided the Combat Commander was going to be it. Scoped? Change of ammo. Wait, you said it was still loaded, but... was it same ammo you last zero'd it with? Position of the sun, vision prescription, storage positioning. Humidity, air pressure, wind direction, speed... any number of factors can affect how a rifle shoots from one day to the next.
