Re: CCW: Gun's In Church.

I've carried in church most of my adult life. When I was working with the youth group, I would carry all the time, especially when we took the kids out and about. The youth leader and all the volunteers knew I carried, and felt a lot safer with me around to make sure the kids were protected. We've m...

Re: OT New Blackhawk in .357

You can load that .357 Blackhawk stout as can be, and it'll still be more comfortable to shoot for longer periods than a full bore .44 or heavy loaded .45. I usually run 180gr bullets out of mine, and pretty hot at that.

Does the Cabelas there in Lacey still have a bunch of leverguns on their used gun rack? They did when I was there, but that was a couple of years ago. It was almost levergun heaven then! :)

Best factory hunting load would be a 158gr jsp or 180gr jhp, depending on the size of the deer in your area. A light .38 load is going to be your best chance for a "quiet" load. Small game, I'd use a 38 wadcutter.

I've found one at a local gun shop for $450. It's .308, but has a rough chamber, i.e., difficult to extract the empty case. Would it be ok to have it converted to .358, or just replace the barrel and keep it as a .308?
