30-30 i can see a little expansion as far as 45-70 ect a half inch hole does the trick if the hit is correct. :)

Things are falling apart ,did some black smithing today and the oak stump i had the anvil attached too fell apart in four pieces. :o its only been there for 33 years. :lol:

Thanks for the replies, the problem here is Normas bird seed and suet, we now have it all put away so maybe problem solved.
DNR won`t do any thing if you have food laying around, seems we go through this every year but Norma don`t get it i guess.
Think we`ll put some pinesol out though anyway.

I`ve wanted a factory modern conversion for a long time but just can`t seem to get my hands on one, going to a gun store and getting one seems to be more hassle than its worth anymore.

Oh heck yea, we had a city dump and when i was a young whipper snapper we would strap on our 22 pistols and shoot rats.
Big fun and we wore our pistols on our hips and nobody gave it a second thought, now days well you know what happened. :roll:

If your talking about just the cylinder drop in conversion mine works perfect right out of the box, i removed the loading lever on mine.

Not much to tell Hombre, its a modern day version US Army bayonet i don`t remember where i got it probably Ebay. :)
They are heavy and bulky imo not one i`d carry much, i bought the Linder around 25 years ago it`s ok but imo the blade is thin.

Thanks Bill, we don`t do it very often, a few years back we used it more when making toboggans.
I have a big boiler and long steam box we used for those but it`s handy having a small setup too. :)

I need to make a new boiler with a water gauge on it so i can let it steam longer without worrying about running out of water, the one i have has rusted through and dripping water.

We made a hay rake and fork today and i ordered a scythe and plan on putting up some hay the old fashion way this summer.
