The Sporting Carbine ( waffle top,not D&T) in .35 Rem. Was only made for 1 or 2 years, 1952 - 53 IIRC. I have one in about 90%+ condition that I value at $800 + . After that they were smooth tops drilled and tapped. Mine is a very good shooter Don't let that one get away. I have a mint SC 35Rem...

My Marlin is also a tackdriver....my loads of 170 JHP Sierras over Ramshot Enforcer or H110 group sub 1" at 50 and a hair over 1.8" at 100yds if the day is calm...it bowls the steel plates over with authority at 150yds too...don't know if I would try Bambi at that distance but would at 100...

My chinese gun has synthetic nylon or delrin seals....I use Mobil synthetic auto tranny fluid (also as a general gun oil)...a great oil thats never gums or changes viscosity...no danger of dieseling as it has a super high flash point..paid 5.25 for a qt back in 2006 and still have most of it left

I can vouch for the Ruger Redhawk (not the Super)....Mine has digested every load fed it happily with great accuracy and stone reliability..as much as I like Smiths...I know this gun will take the pounding that brings most other guns in for work...Hoping one day to find a 5.5" barreled stainles...

As long as you don't mind having a 2-shooter...those 125gr spitzers will reach out and touch something very hard....they hold together fine on deer too...with a 30-30 loaded up pushing them to safe max ..I was getting right at 1" groups with H335 and complete pass thrus on some pretty respectab...

Hi guys n gals....I'm thinking I would like to have a Marlin 94 in 45LC but need to ge an idea what year range to look within that I know I will be getting a 1-20" twist gun..preferrably Ballard and octagon barrel but the twist is most important as I plan on nothing smaller than 300grains going...

Like was mentioned...Beartooths are fairly hard and your load might need to be kicked up a notch to obturate the bullet to slug up in your bore

It truly was amazing...it not only proved the 30-30's power...but what the proper ammo for the job can do in the hands of a good shot...I cant wait to see chapter two where John Wilson takes on the grizzly with his 336....those Buffalo Bore 190's made a believer out of me so far
