What's a feller do with 700 pounds of bear -- and that's assuming it hasn't been feeding on dead fish and garbage cans.

We used to have some places that would accept game animals for their feed the hungry programs. They caught heck from the greenies so they stopped. So now some folks don't get food they could use.

Here it's either garbage can hunting or eating livestock bears. As we don't have enough great wide open for them to eat berries and salmon.
That 700+ should have been a world record contender but the hunter field dressed it, as a responsible hunter would do to preserve the meat as best as he could but for the record the F&G said it had to be the whole critter.
The big question is how to get 700 lbs of dead bear out of the woods!?

An acquaintance of mine shot a brown bear in Alaska and he said the head and hide weighed 450 pounds... They boned out the carcass but I wondered how they got that head and hide to the planes in one piece!

I've seen black bear here in Washington that would easily be 400-450 pounds. Its hard to imagine what a big grizzly, brown or polar bear weighing over 1000 pounds would look like in the flesh!

Often it is carried on the exterior of the plane.
