I'm a little puzzled. Are they competing against their own Ruger Americans? Sure are similar.

Bill, I'm wondering that with all the advancement in computers and cnc machine technology they can spit these simple bolt actions out pretty cheap. maybe the Glenfield Levers are next.

A lever would be interesting. The Ruger Americans shoot very well, but I don't like the way they feed -- shove it toward the hole and the bullet nose should find the way in.

Yes, I read that the new glenfield is basically the ruger american gen 1 with a 20" barrel. So, it's a win win for them. It's kind of genius. They get to rebrand their old ruger american rifle and sell it at a lower price point to increase their customer base.Bill in Oregon wrote: ↑Tue Jun 02, 2026 6:24 pm I'm a little puzzled. I agree. For whatever reason I always liked the marlin 60 more than the ruger 10/22. Maybe because I prefer tube magazines to detachables, and the marlins always seemed alot sleeker and handier than the rugers. I've been thinking that they'd never bring back the marlin rimfire rifles because they wouldn't want to compete with their flagship 10/22, however, after considering the glenfield situation, they could do something similar with the marlin 60. Maybe call it a glenfield and sell it for cheaper than the 10/22 or something.

Where are the birch stocks and blue steel? I can do without the tactical scope base too. A nice 2 piece base that makes it easy to load is my idea of proper set up.
