A good day at a gun show!
I went to a show this morning that I haven't been to in years. Last time I went it was over crowded and full of junk but I wanted to get out of the house for awhile. Glad I went. The show is larger than I remember and much better stuff. I was on a mad tear to pick up another 94 Winchester but didn't see anything that wasn't seriously over priced or abused so I wandered around a bit. Picked up a original set of Ruger old model SBH grips to replace the broken one I have. Then spotted a table full of single shots that I had missed earlier somehow. Nice old guy had just what I needed! A Navy Arms Pedersoli Sharps SRC in .45-70!
He had it tagged for $850 and just before I could make an offer he said $750 and take it home. Done deal! I don't think it's been fired more than a couple times.
I should be able to get out to the range on Monday. This one should be a hoot!

Re: A good day at a gun show!
Thanks Doc, I'll work on that!
What I do need is a new rear sight! The one that's on it is pretty sad, really tiny when folded forward. So far it's the only fault I can find.
My last lap top crashed in flames and I lost all my book marks so I'm trying to remember all the gun stuff places I had saved.

Is it D&T'd for a tang sight?

It is, but not what I want for this stubby little carbine. One of those things where I'll know it when I see it.

Re: A good day at a gun show!
Hey there JB -- Here are some Pedersoli sights listed on VTI Gun Parts. http://www.vtigunparts.com/store/shopdi ... for+Uberti A good outfit to know for a lot of reasons anyway. My Pedersoli Sharps has 10-28 holes tapped in the tang. They were there when I got the rifle so I don't know for a fact if Pedersoli put them there or not. I'd be interested to know what your tang sight holes are. Hope this helps. Best regards. Wind

Thanks for the link Wind. I'll try and figure out what the threads are.

That's a decent price. I think the Smiths are $125.00 or more. I have one on a 1892 Winchester in .45 Colt and love it. I've shot buffalo targets at 750 yards.2ndovc wrote: ↑Sat Oct 28, 2017 6:47 pm Thanks for the link Wind. I'll try and figure out what the threads are.

Jason -
Congratulations! That is a heck of a score! I haven't been to a gun show here in a couple years. Same reason; crowded, too much junk and too pricey. Maybe I'll go to the next one!

Looks like I need to start hitting the shows again, I never find deals let alone find the guy that knocks off a hundred before I even open my mouth! Well Done Jason!
Good wood to metal fit, nice case colors too.
Let us know how it shoots after you figure out the sight.
