The Winchester Model 9422 - photos

Post by mod71alaska »

I didn't want to appear to highjack Tycer's thread asking specifically about the 9422 Trapper and any negatives compared to the Marlin 39 and Henry.

The 9422 came in a three barrel lengths: 16" Trapper, 20" Carbine and 24" Legacy and Classic.

Here are examples of the 3 barrel lengths:

Top to bottom:

1st and 2nd year 9422 .22LR 20" carbines with non-checkered oiled stocks (my favorite); non-checkered .22WMR (22 magnum); 9422 XTR Carbines in .22LR and .22WMR; 9422 16" Trappers in case-colored .22LR and .22WMR.

Top to bottom:

9422 24" Legacys in .22LR and .22WMR; 9422 "Classic" in .22LR (sold to another Forum member)

Victor,
Are you friends with someone at the factory? That's about every one that was ever made. Very nice indeed! :D -------------6

Figure about $8500-10K of rimfires there, son.

I am humbled by that collection of 9422s, I surely am. Can't say I've seen anything like it. Wow! Thank-you so much for sharing.

I always wanted a 9422, but, as you know, they were always a bit pricier than the competition, so never could add one to my rimfire collection - until, recently, that is. I rescued this one from a gun shop that sold it to me at what they paid for it. Had been sitting on the rack for two years and no one was showing much interest, except me, of course. Guess a gun with a picture of Annie Oakley on it is not something that appeals to guys or something, but for a gal that shoots a lot, like me, absolutely!. Put a Skinner black gold peep on it and, yes, I do shoot it and love doing so. Thought I would share it since you don't see one of these 9422s, every day and this is a thread on 9422 photos.
