For those of you who enjoy the survival fiction genre, this book is a must have. It used to be available in .pdf, but that got pulled a while back so the author could publish it.

I'll put that on my list. Did you read "One Second After"? It sounds like the same story line.

I have One Second After. Same disaster, EMP, completely different viewpoints on the telling of the story. Both books are full of good ideas for prepping, One Second After is geared more towards the gentle folk than Lights Out. Lights out appeals more to me than Nancy due to its gunny nature and hands-on fixes for issues.

I have not yet read the print copy and I'm sure it's not exactly the same as the 700 page .pdf, editor neutering and compressing as it is.

"Lights Out" was a very good read, I still have it in PDF format. And "One Second After" is another good read but more depressing. "Deep Winter" and "Shattered" were also good online reads.

I own and have read One Second After. I also read Lights Out when it was in PDF form. Both are based on EMP, however from wht I remember the Lights Out version the characters seem to more prepared. Both are very good reading.

I started light's Out, on line, but never got it finished. I find it hard to read that much on the computer. I went to Amazon.com and purchased 3 of those books, last night. Two are for Christmas presents, to guys who will enjoy the read, I think.

I've loaned out my copy of "One Second After" to several people. If nothing else it has served to make some people more aware of what could happen.

If you like this genre of book. look up the "Ashes" series . ie out of the ashes, fire in the ashes etc.

"One Second After" is pretty good book, also. It will definately get you to thinking about the what if's and what one might expect.
