OT Humor - Tired of the rain?
Got this from a friend living in Tennessee...
******************************************************************
A curious fellow died one day and found himself waiting in the long line of judgment. As he stood there he noticed that some souls were allowed to march right through the pearly gates into Heaven.
Others, though, were led over to Satan who threw them into the burning fire.
But every so often, instead of hurling a poor soul into the fire, Satan would toss a soul off to one side into a small pile.
After watching Satan do this several times, the fellow's curiosity got the best of him. So he strolled over and asked Satan what he was doing. "Excuse me, Prince of Darkness," he said. "I'm waiting in line for Judgment, but I couldn't help wondering. Why are you tossing those people aside instead of flinging them into the Fires of Hell with the others?"
"Oh, those." Satan groaned. "They're all from Tennessee. They're still too wet to burn."

It could actually apply here as well, but I'm not complaining. Summer is just around the corner, and we've been in a draught for years. The lakes are still well under where they should be!

+1. Here in Eastern NM, we haven't seen rain in 9 months. Ran out of grass 2 months ago.20cows wrote:I wish they'd share! I'm running out of grass!

Hi all
Where we live, we just went through 5 years of no significant rain, talk about dust mate, the trees were chasing the cattle dogs just for the pee. The rain finally came, but too much, 300mm in 12 hours, thats about 12 inches and then more and more while Victoria burned we drowned. This land is full of events that are neither gentle or cruel. We just gotta accept the cards we are dealt and work with it. Thats what Aussies do and have been doing. We dont make much fuss about anything we just accept and move on, its the nature of this wide brown Land. but we love it the same as you guys love yours with all its faults. Nature is awesome, we cannot control it, nor can the greenies with the climate change rhetoric, the climate has always changed, the planet is dynamic and will continue to be so. Man is totally insignificant in the grand scheme of things.

Here in Kansas, I'd take up catfish farming, if only I could figure out how deep to plant 'em!
