Congratulations, Jeremy. Outstanding. Oooooraaaaaah!

He was promoted from Staff sergeant to Gunnery Sergeant. It's a step up the ladder. Oh, he got a second rocker.

So long as the pinning is quasi-civil.

None taken. I was promoted today from Staff Sergeant (E6) to Gunnery Sergeant (E7). Now I am two ranks away from the top of the enlisted food chain.

Thanks all. Wish you all could have been there to knock back a few cold ones with me.

Congrats Gunny!

I'll bet Dee and the boys are proud -- just as all those who know you are!

Thank you, just as others have said, for your service. (Such small words for such a large commitment...)

I'll admit I had to look up the rank to be sure as well, but there it was -- United States Marine Corp. Gunnery Sergeant:

Will owe you a beer the next time we get together!

Congratulations, Sir. It takes a special kind of person to make the military a career. Thankfully, this country has more than a few. Question, does this mean a transfer to another duty station, or are you still able to continue where you are?

Want to add my thumbs up, congratulations, and THANKS!!!

Dad's first cousin was KIA on Iwo Jima, 14 March 1945. He was in the 25th Reg. of the 4th Marine Division. I have a picture of his grave up on my office wall and the Marine honor guard when they brought his body home in 1947. So we have some Marine pride in our family too!

With respect!

Geoff

Just remembered today 2 March is the 65th anniversary of my dad's BRONZE STAR for bravery on the Anzio beach head 2 March 1944 with the 3rd Infantry Division. Dad wasn't a Marine, but he made 4 amphibious DDAY landings in Europe! He'd be giving you a big old pat on the back for your promotion!!
