Mom has gone home to our Lord

Post by Ysabel Kid »

My Mom went home to our Lord this morning. It's been a tough several days, and the next few won't be any easier. Appreciate your prayers, as always. She was a special lady, Diane Marie, and loved by everyone who met her. No tears now; she is finally pain-free, at peace, and with loved ones in paradise.

Prayers up for your family as they deal with the loss.

One of the magical things about women is the gift they have that they can MAKE human beings...!

Then if they raise em up right (as she evidently did you), they literally shape humanity.

Sorry for your loss. Praying for the comfort of your family. I lost my dad in February after a fast decline.

I know what it is like.
My Mom's been gone 13 years. There's still a hole in my life.
Dad has been gone 11 years.
Twyla 6 years.
Lots of friends.

I sometimes lean on Anne Lamott who said, "You will lose someone you can’t live without, and your heart will be badly broken, and the bad news is that you never completely get over the loss of your beloved. But this is also the good news. They live forever in your broken heart that doesn’t seal back up. And you come through. It’s like having a broken leg that never heals perfectly—that still hurts when the weather gets cold, but you learn to dance with the limp."

Although its going to be tough, be joyous that she now sits with the Father and the Son where there are no tears, no suffering and no unhappiness.

Sorry for your loss. Her job here is done and has gone home. Rejoice in that. The day of ones death is greater than the day of their birth!

As others have said, you will find her ever-present in yourself and those she influenced. Pretty awesome actually.

So nice she was around for grandkids; I think the multigenerational influence grandparents can impart is extremely important. I missed out on that as all my grandparents were gone before I was out of diapers. One of the things that keeps me going is that I'm not ready to die yet because I have to make sure some the grandkids get a flavor for what those of us born a wa'ay back in the 20th century were like... :D

Can't add much to these sentiments, Jay, except that it will be the love that family and friends had for you Mom that will bring you all together in grief in the next few days. Look for that love amidst the sadness and find peace in the glory of it.

Yes, Ysabel, truly sorry for your loss my friend. It leaves a hole for a long while. I think it took me 20 years to recover from my Dad's death in 1998. It helps to know she is dancing with lost friends and angels.

So sorry. I only have my Mom left now. Lost Dad many years ago as said. Taking early retirement to spend time with Mom before she passes and take care of her.

I hear you and feel you. So so sorry my Brother! My turn is coming soon I think for my Mom. Trying to put affairs in order. I feel you. So sorry Bro.

Thank you all. I read your replies to Mrs. YK and she started crying. You are all the best.

The funeral was yesterday and it was beautiful, fitting my Mom's beautiful soul. We had a ton of family around. I will see her again.
