Decorated pistols like that are all fine and dandy, but what it comes down to is .... how do they shoot?
If they don't shoot, they have no value.

That engraved Yellow Boy sure has me in lust mode..... todd/3leg
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

I just do not really understand the concept of all that artwork on a gun. It is pretty, but I fail to see a point for it.

I see nothing wrong with a firearm having some engraving as long as it is used in the same way as a plain unengraved firearm.
Over decorated firearms do nothing for me. I can't say the same for trophy wives however....

I kind of regard this art work like I do tattoos. Some people choose to adorn themselves or their firearms with images or words to signify something they wish to communicate to the rest of the world.

Its not for me but I can appreciate the skill of the engraver or tattoo artist.

P.S. I always said IF I ever got a tattoo I'd probably go with something profound like "Property of SHE who must be obeyed"

Wm, it sounds as if we see it close to the same way. I would never say that someone shouldn't have artwork done on their gun. If it is yours, and you want it that way---do it. Too many people think that their tastes are the only ones which matter. Heck, if getting a fancy gun makes you more supportive of rights for all law abiding citizens, then it cannot be a bad thing. It just isn't something that I would have done.

If I ever get a tattoo, it will be on a toe and will be of a T.O.W. just to remind me of one of the thing that I fired as an 11B which was not typical for an 11B to even get near. I got cross trained on a bunch of things because I volunteered for all training that anyone would let me sign up for.

I figger there is a place for engraved and precious plated guns with exotic wood. What more use does a million dollar painting hanging on a wall have than a highly decorated firearm. Some nut painted a soup can and it's worth millions and some engraves their guns and they are worth a lot. Art can apply to nearly everything, so why not? Practical use doesn't enter into "Art"...
