Treasure Of The Sierra Madre Lever

Post by Blaine »

I think Bogart was using a 92 in the gunfight with the banditos....would that have been a .45?
(That's one of those movies I have to watch every couple years or so :D )

Nope, 1985 was the first year Winchester ever offered their levers in .45 Colt.

OD* is correct, no lever guns made in .45 Colt until USRAC chambered the 94AE for it in 1985. The 92 you saw in the movie was most likely chambered for the 44 W.C.F.

That is one movie I found so boring I could not watch. I got to the point they were fighting amongst themselves at the mine and punched the eject button. Tossed it back on the shelf and there it sits.

" Badges? We don't need no stinking badges! "

The rifle was probably 44-40.

Probably the two most misquoted movies of all time are both Bogey movies, Treasure Of The Sierra Madre and Casablanca.
