Care to tell a little more about it for those of us who are not familiar with him?

He's very highly respected among the single shot and antique firearm community, for his metal work. He's very old school.....perfectionist, fair pricing, and he sends your rifle back with the invoice. Once you've inspected his work you send him payment.

I'm sure others that have used him will chime in.

Here's a Stevens 44 barrel I had relined about a year ago. He uses TJ's liners.

John does my relines and re-bores. He's so good and reasonable and with my backlog I can't afford to do them myself anymore.

I'd like to here all the specifics on your rifle too!! Its amazing to see people do metal work; that I could only visualize how i'd like it to turn out. Have a question if you had a 44-40 with a bad bore could it be relined to 38-40?
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

250 Savage... its what the 223 wishes it could be...!

John's tolerances are very tight..... .001" IIRC.

You should be able to reline a 44-40 to a 38-40, but the liner may be slightly visible due to the bore size reduction. Email John.
