POLITICS - Hit this petition! (Please!)
I found this petition linked on another gun board. It was initiated by U.S. Congressman Eric Cantor and pertains to the case currently being considered by the U.S. Supreme Court. We need all the help we can get.

I can see the text of Mr. Cantor's endorsement plea to sign, but I did not see the text of the petition.

Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.
History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.

Thanks for the headsup. I signed it and just finished writing the WhiteHouse and my congressmen voicing my displeasure and asking to see if there is anything they can do to help.
The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

So when did the Attorney General get renamed to Solicitor General? Sounds British to me. I signed the petition anyway, but that just seemed odd."

RE: Solicitor General --
"The original Statutory Authorization Act of June 22, 1870, states, "There shall be in the Department of Justice an officer learned in the law, to assist the Attorney General in the performance of his duties to be called the Solicitor General." The Office of the Solicitor General is tasked to conduct all litigation on behalf of the United States in the Supreme Court, and to supervise the handling of litigation in the federal appellate courts. The general functions of the Office can be found at 28 CFR 0.20
