Howdy from Missouri

Post by Bingo 7 »

I just wanted to say "hey." I am from Southwest Missouri. I started hunting with a Marlin .30-30 that my Dad gave me. As I grew older, not wiser, I fell in love with the IDEA of the bolt action long gun. I was never really made whole with it. It was like going and buying some new boots. I just loved how the boots looked but they just did not quite fit right. I kept thinking that they just needed to get broke in. It never happened. I then found black powder and purchased a traditional styled hawkin .54 rifle. I enjoyed the bp but never had the luck to take a deer. I recently rediscovered that neglected safe queen of a .30-30. Wisdom finally showed herself. I found the right boots.

I will try to do the honors tomorrow. I recently traded for a Marlin 336CS of 1988 vintage. It's not very pretty, but I have hopes of a project. I have pics of it. Hopefully that will satisfy the masses until I get pics of the queen.

Yeah, the stuff is coming off. I am hoping craigslist will find some homes for scope, mounts and sling. I am thinking of turning this one into a Trapper, but have not decided yet. I don't have much invested in it. I got it from a buddy who got the fever for a Sub Compact High Capacity Handgun and needed cash. Without getting political here, I can atleast now say Mr. Obama did me favor. :D
