Marlin 39a is on the way
Finally bought my first lever .22 I was looking for a 1897 cowboy octagon barrel but they are nowhere to be had[ please don't tell me you have one for sale] Looks like a nice piece of wood Does anybody know if you can install a Wild West trigger in the 39a http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n124 ... 440001.jpg

That should be a nice one. As far as the trigger goes, I don't think Wild West makes one for the 39a. My pre-safety 39a does not have the Marlin trigger "flop" like the big boys and has a nice clean, light (but un-measured) trigger break. I can not comment on the current 39as with the safety and the rebounding hammer.

Beautiful wood on that rifle!
There is a good chance that the trigger will be pretty darn good on that Marlin. I have 2 newer Marlin 39as and they both have nice triggers, never needed to have them worked on.

Wow, that is one nice piece of wood, congrats!
Quite a coincidence, I just mailed payment to silverbuzzard on Tuesday for a 1982 39A from the forum classifieds
I think silverbuzzard had YK take the picture though
