I am back, but I am not "back" but am headed that way.

Post by JimT »

Doing Home Health Care and Rehab. I get around ok and can do most everything myself. Healing pretty quickly. Doctors said it is because I am in pretty good shape physically. I get that but I believe that the prayers have had much more to do with it.

Won't be shooting for awhile, and then it will be smallbores til all is healed.

THANK YOU ALL FOR THE KIND THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS!

Take your time. Staying active is a help. If walking is all you feel like doing on some days, then walk until you are tired.

More prayers Up for Your complete Recovery. other than a car the only thing I want to go fast on is my lawnmower. I can't believe how long it takes to recover when I get hurt. I wish I was 69 again. .

Jim, did you try to call me yesterday? I've had appointments all week, along with taking care of my grandson, so I might have missed it.

No sir. I do not think I did and I am trying to stay off the heavy meds as much as possible. At this point I am not sure I have your phone number. :D

The meds are sort of my area of expertise. Do not use the heavy stuff unless there is a true need. People can get hooked quickly when they take them on a schedule just because they are told to. As you know by your age, some aches and pains will happen, and we just have to learn to live with whatever level we can take while still going on with life. One of my patients was already on some heavy stuff when she broke a major bone in a fall. Not her hip. Still a major bone. She just added in some OTC stuff and adjusted her activities until the bone healed. Yes, she was uncomfortable, but with her chronic issue, she knew how muct discomfort was doable without increasing her pain meds. Becoming addicted can happen when a person thinks they should not feel any pain or discomfort at all. Again, some aches and pains just must be dealt with as a part of life. Maybe it is part of GOD's way of reminding us that he is in charge. Not my place to say for sure. Soreness is just your body saying to be a bit more careful. Pain is a warning to take it a bit easier because damage might be occurring. Both are warnings. Paying attention to warnings is not a bad idea.

OK, rant over. Yes, my employer has contracts with several pain management clinics. We dispense a lot of pain meds, and must be hypervigilant.

Yessir! I agree with you. The worst pain I have is my left knee that was damaged 45 years ago when I was bucked off a young horse I was breaking to ride.

Other than the horse collar, and the shiner, hell, I forgot where I was headed with this...

Keeping you in my prayers, I don't want last year's meeting at Raton to be the only one!
