They are sending me home Monday.

Post by JimT »

Will do home rehab for awhile.. It is gonna take some time for the spine to heal. Been walking without the cane and doing ok.

I sure do thank you all for the prayers.. It could have been much worse.

Jim, it seems to me that you've made a remarkable recovery given the extent of your injuries. Hopefully your recovery will proceed even more rapidly when you're back in your own space, able to sleep in your own bed.

Best wishes

You're getting great advice Jim. Easy does it! A cane or walking stick just might be your friend.
If you were closer I'd bring over some "hot dish" as they say in Minnesota. Will keep sending prayers.

That old saying, There's no place like home, becomes a very welcome reality in your circumstances! In 96 I barely survived an explosion, underground mining that killed two my coworkers just short distance from me. Broke my neck, 4 ribs, + plenty other good details! Worst overall,my left arm was 98% paralyzed as far as any muscles you push with, could barely push shut any inside the house door!
But my details not important, just saying I understand, and I know you'll come to same reality eventually, I pray also, of the Truth of Rom 8:28! No not easily or comfortably, certainly not soon, but somehow eventually! I did for sure! But I was only 37 years old then, big advantage!
Regardless, praying for your best out of it all!

I live with my daughter, son-in-law and two grandsons. They take good care of me when I let them.

Glad to hear you're getting along well enough to go home. Now, and I know it's hard for us guys, do what the doctors and rehab folks tell you to do. Push when they say push, back off and rest when they say rest. I learned the hard way that if you push too hard too long, you only cause things to take longer to heal.
And next time you feel the need for speed, use something like this.

If you do go this route, avoid the three wheel types. I've got one that's three wheels and will do over twenty. But I'm thinking I really need to upgrade to four wheels for better stability.

That's not the one I own. It was just to show him what' out there to get around outdoors a lower speeds. I have this one.

It's AWD and goes over 20. But it's a bit tippy and at 25, frankly, a bit scary. I've take a couple of low speed tumbles but been lucky so far. I'm looking into a replacement with four wheels.

Good to hear your going home, I'm going through the same thing so I know how you feel, to many rodeos back in my younger days.
