Another vote for Sno-Seal. I started using it on my boots while still in the Army and still do. Warm the leather slightly and rub in and let dry. A shoe brush will even put a shine on them if you want. Like Mr. Rumson said it will need to be reapplied occasionally.

Here in Arkansaw bow season opened the 1st and blackpowder season [reckon I can't call it that anymore] opened the Saturday the 17th. I saw a few deer bow hunting but to far for my recurve. I saw one doe Saturday morning, just a little to slow to get on her before she disappeared behind some rocks....

I just got back from a few days camping and hunting (muzzle loader) in the Leatherwoods. The ice storm last year was really tough on my favorite hunting grounds, There is so much timber down that getting a clear shot on the deer I saw was impossible. I didn't see a single acorn or persimmon anywhere...

Another vote for good ol' Unique. I've tried other "newest and bestest yet" powders in the past but keep coming back to Unique. It does a fine job for every pistol cartridge I load so I just stock the one kind now.

I use a pair of the Army issue Gore-tex pants and they work fine. Waterproof gaiters might work for you,never tried 'em myself.

Usually an old Marlin 30AW in .30 WCF rides in the truck but lately the little Marlin .357 has been my constant carry rifle. It's light and short and has enough punch for any critters I'm likely to encounter on the place.
