Re: Cataract surgery
Blaine, I became a Type One diabetic in late 1999. It's a helluva disease. Are you fairly satisfied with your management of your blood sugar? The only problems I have are me  But, for the most part my A1C stays between 6 - 7. VA sends insulin for a very reasonable co-pay and the other supplies...

Re: Is there a cartridge machinist in the house?
Have about 50 .348 cases formed and trimmed to .44-77, but the rims are .076-.077 and they will supposedly fit the Shiloh chambers, but not the C. Sharps chambers, which take a thinner .067 rim. This must have been the reamer my gunsmith used. So I need to find a "cartridge machinist" who...

If you think two or three torso hits from a .38 special, or 9mm at 25 or 30 yards would be effective defense, then two or three, or more, .380 hits at personal defense range is about the same. More if you are using the Good Stuff from Buffalo Bore like the 100 grain flat-nosed hard cast. I'm not try...

I didn't own a proper skeet shotty, so at 17 I learned with a Club Gun, a Win 101 410. I always got 20 or better and even ran almost 50 once.
The only 410 I have now is a NEF single shot, full choke that perforates the heck out of a milk jug at 40 yards with high-brass #4s....

My Springfield Range Officer 1911 in 9mm is a high quality shooter.
But, a Glock 30S (.45acp) is what is on the nightstand.
My embarrassing secret is that an LCP is what leaves the house with me every day.
The important thing is to never leave home without an EDC.

This. Had trouble with a Lee Universal decapper. I very slowly took off an iota at time, flattening it.After that it would do it occasionally, but still way too often. I think I got fed up and put it to the bench grinder, but I don't remember if I sharpened it or made it more flat.
