Re: Boy, Does 55 Years Play Tricks on the Memory
In gunnery practice at Grafenwoehr, we got to shoot a few of the HEAT rounds and in the evening they would light up the sky with all sorts of bright colors depending upon what metal they were burning through as they exploded. My older brother, commo sergeant for the Cav unit, said that the Germans ...

As we know, some powders can be position sensitive, and equipment error can cause light charges or double charges. Yes, the manufacturers need feedback. Good for Winchester.

Not leverguns. Plus, the long gun is inexpensive. It is accurate and it works reliably. The handgun is old styled enough to fit in with leverguns.

I just looked at my notes. 9x 57 rimmed is what I was looking at. Less power and less pressure. A 20 gauge shotgun action is not really strong enough for much more. I have something in a combo for when I want to launch 400 grains at 1300 fps.

I haven't looked it up well yet. There is a 9.something rimmed cartridge that is straight wall and operates at a reasonable pressure for what I want to do. I think it sounds fun. I plan on starting this Fall.

Part of the edge on stainless is having the right sharpening equipment. Carbotundum stones sharpen only a few grades of stainless. 420, AUS 8, and the softer ones. The carbides mixed with vanadium and nitrogen are too hard for carborundum or Arkansas soft stones to touch. Diamond to set the edge, cr...

If your wife burns candles, set the used candle glass in hot water. The candle wax will soften and come out easily. Buy a cheap saucepan and gently heat up the candle scraps until they are liquid.
