Re: Picked up a Trapper

I put a Lyman 66 on mine and love it. It feeds the big Lee 310 grainers just fine. You're going to love that little sweetie!

Thanks for posting that link! Wish I could put an order in. I'll be interested in hearing reviews of how they do. I've always thought they were good looking guns and using modern material and manufacturing techniques they could be great shooters.

I have an '03 in my locker with a Lyman 48. I don't doubt your results at all. Mine will do pretty well too. I've never understood why everyone thinks they have to have scopes. I may change my mind as I age, but so far I can still shoot peeps and I really enjoy doing so.

Wow! I really like that. My Puma doesn't have that safety, but if it did, I'd buy one of those in a heartbeat!

Pete, Thats's a really sweet looking Puma. I've got the same one with the large loop and short barrel in 357. I put a Marble's tang sight on mine really love it. Gives me a little more sight radius but still have the handiness of the trapper length barrel. I've been very happy with the accuracy of m...

The dove tail slot is not the same size as a Winchester's. It's been a while since I did my Puma, but as I recall, it's slot is bigger. I went with a Marble's tang sight and love it. That little Puma is one of my all time favorite rifle's.

I think the important question to answer is what do you think of it? If you really like it, you'll enjoy owning and shooting it. If you don't really like it, it's not worth worrying about. Personally, I've paid more than I thought I should have more than once, and in the end had absolutely no regret...

Well, I've had my "pile of junk" for a while now. It's an old Puma with the medallion on the side of the receiver. I've yet to have a problem. I'm not interested in trading it off for any other '92.

I wonder how they will determine who the "lawful" owners are? I don't know about you, but I don't think I've saved the receipts for all mine, some I bought 35 years ago.

I think McCain his a grand slam with this pick. I was not going to support McCain before, but now I'm leaning real strong to voting for the republican ticket. This woman has her priorities straight and has the courage to act on them. Heck, I'd vote for her for president.

Pharmseller, I put a Marble's tang sight on my Rossi Puma Trapper. I had receiver sights on all the other leverguns and wanted to try something different. I really like that tang sight, especially for a trapper length gun.

I'm not a good example. My solution was both! I have 2 '92's in 357 and one '94 in 44. All Winchester (one a Winnie clone). All are quite accurate, but then I have 50+ year old eyes. I use receiver sights on two and a tang sight on one. If I had to choose only one, I'd probably go with the 44 trappe...

I really like 12gr of 2400 over a std CCI sm pistol primer and a home made 158gr gas checked swc bullet. It's a load I don't have to worry about in what ever revolver I pick up and it's very accurate. It also shoots really well out of my 357 carbines.

Some may prefer the gentle approach, but if more of us started acting as if things were as important to us as we say they are there would be a hell of alot less of this stuff. I whole heartedly support the action taken. Legal system better carefully consider it's response here.

I prefer the short barrel 101, 2.25" I believe. The reason is I feel it gives me more options in modes of carry than the longer barrel version. I know some say it too heavy for pocket carry, but not for me. You just have to try and see for yourself. I have found that Mika's pocket holster is th...
