Re: NEW: Winchester Model 94AE Skinner Receiver Sight
I looked at other photos on their site and it looks a lot taller from the side than my FP. I'm going to have to think about changing.

That would look good on my big bore AE in 356. It already sports a Williams FP with a Skinner brass blade, but I really like the look. It would mean resighting, but just things you have to do.

Re: 9422 peep set up?
I put a Williams that fits in the grooved receiver on a 9422 I had. I did change the front sight to a Marbles sour dough, but I can't remember if it was taller or if I changed it because of the style. It did shoot very well though. Should never have sold it but the fellow that bought it made a great...

Did you have the rear defroster on? Maybe overheated and the glass ran out of room to expand.

I agree. It it extracts and ejects live ammo well, probaly a dirty chamber. Maybe previous owner fired a lot of 22 short in it and it left a crud ring in the chamber.

Pretty neat!! A silver type solder would probably be better to withstand the higher temps. You would think the incoming water would keep the temperatures low enough to prevent the soft solder from melting. Alcohol may burn cleaner than Coleman fuel (naptha).

Nice looking dog! He probably eats like a horse and leaves dropping like one too. He looks like an outside dog to me with that thick hair. I had a Husky that would come in the house in the winter for only a very short time (even when -20 out) and then she would want out because she was too hot. She ...

If I remember right, due to its wood construction, it could absorb alot of flak and gunfire and still be serviceable. Made it a pretty tough plane.

I had a mutt beagle mix (called him Pooch) that had to be the best dog I have ever had. Would play ball with my son all day and was really a good catch. You could throw a tennis ball as high as you wanted and he would watch it and usually caught it before it would hit the ground. Stayed mostly outdo...

Once upon a time there werev 2 guns that I said I would never part with. A Winchester model 67 single shot 22 and a Remington 870 20 ga that belonged to my Dad. My son is not into firearms but my nephew just started. When he got his firearms permit this year, I gave him the model 67. At first he did...

Looks good. You may want to rig up a solid draw bar instead of ropes though. If you have a down hill section, it may try and push you or get caught up in your tires and flip.

Again thanks to everyone. I was basically right in that a medium powder should work. I am probably going to put a package of various powders I have on hand that he can try and we will go from there ie imr 4895 rl 15 and i think I have imr 3031 if not my 30-30 needs to be fed.

My nephew bought himself a nice sporterized Lithgow No 1 mkIII and now he is thinking of taking up reloading. My sister and I are looking around for things that he will need for Christmas presents. Nothing beats wood heat in my opinion. I have a heatpump (mostly for AC) an oil furnace and 2 airtight wood stoves. The smaller stove is in the basement and I use it when it gets colder out and the furnace doesn't run much because the larger wood stove is keeping upstairs warm. If I don't fire up th...

I simply take a coffee can and fill it with HOT water. I stick the muzzle in the water and use a tight fitting patch fed from the breech to pump the hot water in and out of the barrel. Once the barrel is not comfortable to hold in my hand I run a few dry patches through it to sop up excess water and...
