The only lead free I know of is the discontinued barnes X bullets in 200 &220g you might find them by looking on the web.

Mike349 welcome, I run a 255 rnfn cast from 900 to 1400 fps from a 7.5" ruger havent checked velocity from my 24" 92 I guess 2-300 fps increase on the top load. the loaddatta is on accurate arms website with AA 5744 powder the top load is 30K psi. danny

I think the Danish Gevaer M/53 or as we know it the P-17 would be a better rifle and is used presently by the Danish Sirius sled patrol in Greenland for polar bears. If there was a better arctic rifle they would be using it. danny

Have not loaded for a rifle but will say 2400 is the most accurate out of pistols I have tried, from 158 to 180's the recipe for 158 & 173 were proved out by Doug Wesson in the mid 30's, In the articles section of this forum is the loads used by Wesson for his hunts. danny

55 gr fmc used in a 14 twist barrel was devastating on charlie it cavitated & tumbled made horrible wounds the twist was also the cause of the bullet not able to penetrate foliage. I liked the round but despised the delivery system it was junk for a auto fire battle rifle it got good men killed....

about 14$ a sq ft for a buff at a tannery, dont put a felt backing on it makes it to bulky cant drape it over a rail or couch, bear and buff you can wrestle on them wont hurt them Ive got both. If you get a home tan kit make sure its not a pickling product as they dont last. danny
