Re: Lyman #2 Tang Sight Question
The 94 in question isn't already drilled for tang sights so spacing isn't an issue. I'm concerned that once mounted, the aperture would be too high or too low to use. It seems Lyman #2's for the 94 aren't available right now. I ordered one from Optics Planet in March because their "availability...

A Question About The Winchester 94 Carbines
I posed the following question on Facebook: For years the front barrel bands on 94 carbines were between the front sight and the muzzle. When the ramp front sight came into use, the bands were moved behind the sight. Other than to make disassembly more difficult, was there a practical reason for the...

You nailed it - almost like Blazing Saddles, it's a movie that couldn't be made today. It has already been remade - Zulu Dawn (1979) doesn't come close to Zulu (1964) "Zulu Dawn" is not a remake of "Zulu". It actually chronicles the Battle of Islandwana that preceded the siege o...

From Western movies it is easy to see the true nature and purpose of The Bedroll. Thanks guys. Now I don't feel quite so incompetent. I did a little research on Marlin Owners and see all sorts of recommendations for filing the barrel notch, the forend holes, and the band itself.
A few years ago I swapped out the bands two 94 Winchesters. It was simple and easy, not this mess!
