Right on! That's about the only way to get one that shoots good without fussing with. Neither Ruger nor S&W has ever figured out the 45Colt; one makes the throats too small and the other makes them too large. Very frustrating. The cylinders with oversized throats have to be replaced. Those like...

If that is a standard 30-30 chamber there should not be rifling on the case neck. That neck was in the rifling when the round was fired. You can clearly see the imprinted rifling on it. I once forgot to put my ear protection on when shooting my 94AE .45 Colt Trapper in an indoor range. Even between the lane baffles the report was barely noticeable.
