Re: Accidentally won another rolling Block
Wow, that's a nice one too. I'm only marginally familiar with Hepburn rifles. Hepburns were originally the design of firearms genius Louis L Hepburn. He designed them to be strictly a target rifle that could be easily chambered, fired, and reloaded without the shooter having to get out of position....

Re: Ruger Marlin 1894 44 Magnum
It's somewhat disappointing to hear of this, but at least it is issues that are easily remedied. The sight issue should be easily resolved once they get the correct height being shipped with the guns. Being loose is weird... you'd think the person that put the front sight on would have noticed, or c...

I was not raised in a Christian home. I became a Christian, in my 20s, and now... I'm raising my son in church, in bible study, and with hearing my testimonies on the regular. I talk to him about God, and how the only thing that really matters is your relationship with Jesus. I try my best to make l...

Very nice find. I'd love to find one like that. It's interesting that the slight difference in case size causes a problem, it must be extremely tight headspace. How did the bore look?

Thanks for all the replies. I had overlooked the need for ruggedness for a wilderness gun. Course, none of my guns see much wilderness. I have broken a rear sight by knocking a rifle (winchester 94) out of a chair once though.
Sixgun, that is very nice guns you're showing there, thanks.

Skinner Sights on Marlin 1894 CL.
I don't see the allure of Skinner sights. They lack one important feature, the ability to quickly adjust the elevation. It's common for me to adjust my barrel-mounted sights for different loads or distances, like 38 Specials to 357 Magnum, or 25 yards to 75 yards. Once I get the notches figured out ...

The only heavy load I've worked up in 44 Magnum is Ranch Dog CTL432-265-RF over 22 grains W296. I've not had the chance to work with a heavier bullet yet.

I had not thought of looking at Hodgden site, thanks. I had a friend run some quick loads for me with my Ranch Dog CTL432-265-RF bullet, but WSF was not in quickloads. I did get Bullseye, W231, Unique, and Power Pistol Data, which I figured would be the powders I'd most likely be using. I have a jug...

It was a good day in the early 1960s when I managed to put five pennies together and I would walk to the mom-and-pop store and buy a pack of Topps baseball cards. I've not owned a Rossi myself, but my buddies have owned a couple. I would imagine the hard part would be the cartridge stop, keeping the rebated rim from jumping out of the magazine and tying up the gun. I didn't know that it'd ever been done, be interesting to see how some closeup photos of the guts and what was done to make the gun run.

Nose on a wheelbarrow pretty much says it. I think that the people that actually use their leverguns know that it's mostly hype.
